Ensembles
Concert Choir

Concert Choir is our large mixed ensemble and the cornerstone of the CHS choral program. This is where students build a strong foundation in choral singing—focusing on vocal technique, ensemble skills, music theory, and sight reading. Singers explore a wide range of choral literature from diverse cultures, styles, and time periods, with repertoire written specifically for full chorus. As an auditioned ensemble, Concert Choir performs at school concerts, festivals, and community events throughout the year.
Chora Nova

Chora Nova is our upper-intermediate treble ensemble, made up of soprano and alto voices. This auditioned choir builds on foundational choral skills with a focus on advanced vocal technique, part independence, and expressive performance. Students explore dynamic repertoire written specifically for treble voices—spanning a variety of cultures, styles, and historical periods. Chora Nova performs regularly at school concerts, festivals, and community events.
Chamber Singers

Chamber Singers is our premier mixed ensemble and most advanced performing group. With a focus on precision, artistry, and musical independence, this auditioned choir performs challenging repertoire from all time periods and styles—often singing a cappella. As CHS Choirs’ primary touring ensemble, Chamber Singers represent the program at festivals, competitions, and special events, with significant commitments outside of class. Members are expected to demonstrate leadership, discipline, and a high level of musical literacy.
